SF Sketchfest presents a pairing from a dozen hand-picked stand-up comedians on the rise: names you might not know now, but will be hearing a lot from soon. With Fumi Abe and Joyelle Nicole Johnson, Hosted by Ronn Vigh

Fumi Abe is a Japanese-American stand-up comedian/writer based in Los Angeles who recently made his TV debut on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

He has written for NPR's "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!", was part of the 2020 Comedy Central Digital Creators Program, and is currently a staff writer on "The Late Late Show with James Corden."

He produces and hosts a comedy podcast titled "Asian Not Asian," which was most recently included in Vulture's Comedy Podcast Roundup as well as The AV Club's Podcast series highlights.

Joyelle Nicole Johnson is a comedian and writer who brings joy to the stage. Joyelle made her network TV debut on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and more recently performed on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon." Next month, she will record her first stand-up special for Peacock, executive produced by Jimmy Fallon. She has done punchup for "Broad City" and Abbi and Ilana's animated Comedy Central pilot "Mall Town" and recently wrote a digital series for Illuminative, which she also stars in. Her debut comedy album "YELL JOY!" was released on Juneteenth 2021. She was the warm up comic for Hasan Minhaj's talk show "Patriot Act" on Netflix and the permanent guest host for the Sirius XM radio show Godfrey Complex. She has performed on Wyatt Cenac's "Night Train" for SeeSo, "This Week at the Comedy Cellar" and "Comics to Watch" for Comedy Central, "LaffMob" for TruTV, was a panelist on Refinery 29/Facebook Watch's After After Party and can be seen in HBO's "Crashing" and the upcoming season of "Search Party." She was selected for the 2018 FOX Comedy showcase, was a finalist in NBC's Stand Up For Diversity Showcase and has performed at festivals like SF Sketchfest, Bonnaroo, The New York Comedy Festival and Bumbershoot. Vulture and NY Magazine named her one of the "comedians you should and will know in 2020." She regularly features for Hannibal Buress and has opened for other legends like Dave Chappelle, Russell Peters and Maria Bamford.

Early in his career, Ronn Vigh's brash attitude and acerbic wit earned him a comparison to a young Joan Rivers by the SF Weekly. It was certainly a fitting comparison as Ronn later became a writer for Rivers on her hit E! Television show "Fashion Police."

Ronn regularly performs at his home club Punch Line San Francisco, Cobb's and a variety of comedy clubs, colleges and festivals across the nation. He also co-hosted the popular sports-comedy podcast, "Switching Teams: A Gay Dude & A Straight Dude Talk About Sports."

His biggest accomplishment: Working briefly as a flight attendant and not attempting to smother any of his passengers with a pillow. Yes, there were complimentary pillows on the plane when Ronn did that job. Please don't do the math.
